Yep, I left, and only wish it had been sooner! I took early retirement from the Federal Government in June 2019. Even though I had 35 years in, from a financial standpoint it didn’t seem to make sense: not to me, and based on a few comments, not to some of the people I worked with. But it all makes sense now.
But what made less sense was staying where I felt stifled and living below my potential. My authenticity wasn’t valued, but I get it, they hadn’t hired me to be authentic. They hired me to award government contracts.
So I made the decision to retool, and build a new life in alignment with who I am: the work I was created for and passions of my heart. I inspire people, I motivate people to strive for bigger. Bigger visions for their life, a bigger impact in the world, a bigger legacy for their family. I’m passionate about encouraging women over 50, and the best part of it all, I was built to do the thing I’m passionate about.
I became a certified life coach because, like all coaches, I could see the potential in others and get a sense of their potential for winning if they could just harness their talent. I want to help others be able to see the value of the gifts and align their life to make the most of those gifts.
I help women who struggle to move forward in the latter seasons of life to realign their purpose: with their values, gifts, and passions. I believe that what a woman has a heart for she will give her heart to. And if she can find meaning and make an impact, she’ll be able to build a life that will leave this world knowing that she has spent her gifts well.
